1962 Mountie Sandy Valdespino
Sandy Valdespino while played for the Vancouver Mounties had the scare of his life. While at bat in the 12th inning there was a hugh flaming ball cross over Capilano Stadium. All the players and fans (about) 200 ran for their lives as well as the umpires. A LARGE METEOR had cross the sky from west to east visible for 10-20 seconds taking up about 10 degrees of sky. Valdespino thought it was a crashing airplane. The meteor was observed as far away as Lewiston, Idaho and Forrt Assiniboine, Alberta
