O'Doul and Ruth Remembered

While in Japan from Oct28-Nov2 I had occasion to visit a Sake Brewery. There at the premise was a wooden likeness of Babe Ruth. Talking with the owner I learned that this was made in 1934 to remeber the visit of Ruth, O'Doul et al who visited Japan after the World Series.
O'Doul was the Vancouver Mounties first manager who with ruth visited Vancouver Oct 19, 1934 then took a CPR steamer to Japan.
This visit is still fondly remembered by the baseball fans in Japan.
