The 2nd annual Chief Bender Award for distinguished work in the the develoment of players was won by Oakland's Keith Lieppman Director of Player Development.
This award has a Vancouver connection as Jim Rantz of the Minnesota Twins the first winner played for the 1962 Vancouver Mounties whilst Keith played for the expansion Vancouver Canadians 1978.
Congratulation to Keith who works endless hours developing player for the Oakland A's.
